D.I.Y. Christmas Decorations
This is my first ever year not going home for Christmas. Sad face.
To cheer myself up I bought a wee fake Christmas tree (I prefer real but our flat is too tiny for a real one) and decided to make some of my own decorations.
Here is what I did:
I used some different coloured felt squares, ribbon, beads, needle & thread.
I cut some of my black felt into two star shapes.
Then I sewed some beads in a pattern on one of the felt star shapes.
Next I stitched the two star shapes together part way round. I stuffed some felt scraps in the middle to make the star chubby and cute!
Then I cut a bit of ribbon to use for hanging the star from a branch. I looped the ribbon then continued to sew around the rest of the star, stitching the ribbon in place between the two layers of felt.
And ta da - a chubby star ornament!
So far I’ve only made four because the beading takes ages. Next on my list is a Santa hat and a candy cane. What else could I make?
This little Piggy is so incredibly talented! I’m going to give this a go next year. But maybe in lime green and hot pink :)
